LEARN TO CRUISE UNDER SAIL!

Seahorse Sailing is British Columbia's Premier Sailing School! We specialize in a live aboard, Cruise and Learn, on the water instruction leading to either the Canadian Yachting Association or the International Sail and Power Association certification. You live on board modern, fiberglass sailboats, 32-37' for 5 days and 5 nights, the same type of boat that you will soon wish (and will be able) to charter! A maximum of 4 students on our Basic and Intermediate courses allows an abundance of personal instruction enabling you to learn at your own pace. Our ideal location affords maximum flexibility allowing your itinerary to encompass many different Ports of Call i.e. Port Browning, Maple Bay, Ganges, Montague Harbour, Telegraph Harbour, Friday Harbour etc. depending on weather conditions. The instruction is ongoing whilst cruising the spectacular Gulf Islands! All instructors are certified in the CYA and/or ISPA, all are very experienced. STANDBY REGISTER:
If you are able to take time off with short notice, we can offer these courses at a "Standby" rate. Two weeks before a course sails, if we have a berth available, the Basic and Intermediate courses would be offered to you at $850 plus taxes. To register for Standby, the fee is $200. If you change your mind and decide to go into the normal system, the $200 would go towards your course as booked.

LICENSING FOR ALL BOAT OPERATORS:
Avoid the rush, be responsible and be ready! The new regulations require proof of completion of a Canadian Coast Guard proficiency course, examination or equivalent to operate a powered watercraft, this includes a sailboat with an engine. Eventually all operators under the age of 55 will be required to carry a card certifying this boating proficiency (or your certified logbook). Any experienced boater with knowledge of boating regulations will be able to challenge the exam to obtain this walletsize card. The charge to write the exam, to be placed on a central registry and to obtain the card, is $45. Non Canadians may charter without this license provided they receive an orientation by a Canadian Charter Boat operator, or carry alternate certification i.e.: ASA, ISPA, RYA etc.

DISCOUNTS FOR STUDENTS
Students become repeat customers and qualifiy for a 5% discount on all subsequent charters (within 12 months), as well as qualifiying for family discounts. Multiple discounts may not apply.
