Horizon Net Accounting Policy


  • Accounts are due and payable when they are invoiced. Accounts are considered overdue at 15 days.

    1. Horizon Net is not responsible for the forwarding of email sent to any account which has been suspended or terminated. Such email will either be returned to sender, ignored, deleted, or stored temporarily, at Horizon Net's sole discretion.

    2. If your account is in arrears for more than 30 days, the account will be disabled. When we disable the account, we will continue to collect your e-mail for later pick-up and if you have web pages, they will continue to be displayed. Charges will continue on the account and your renewal date will not be changed. There will be a $5.00 charge to re-activate the account.

    3. If your account is in arrears for more than 60 days, the account will be put on hold. Any new e-mail sent to your account will be returned to sender, and your web pages will not be displayed. Billing will stop and there will be $10.00 re-activation fee.

    4. If your account is in arrears for more than 90 days, the e-mail in your account will be deleted, your web pages will deleted and the account will be closed and sent to collections. If you want the account back with the same name, there will be a $15.00 set-up fee.

  • Bonus hours will only be applied to accounts when payment is received prior to an invoice being generated. This means you would have a credit balance on your account greater than or equal to the amount of your invoice. If we have your credit card number on file and we have a signed credit card authorization on file, you will receive your bonus hours.

  • All accounts will be automatically invoiced when either you run out of time or you have reached your renewal date.

  • Hourly accounts will have a renewal date set as follows:

    For example: If you purchase 20 hours on April 26th, 1999, your account will renew on December 26th, 1999, unless you have used the entire 20 hours prior to that date. An invoice will be sent to you for an additional 20 hours and those 20 hours will be credited to your account.

  • If you do not intend to use your account for some period of time because of holidays, etc., we suggest you purchase the smallest block of hours to suit your needs to keep the account. We will continue to collect your e-mail during this time, and you will be charged extra diskspace if you go over the allowed monthly average of 1 Megabyte. If you have web pages, you must maintain a monthly account which supports the amount of diskspace that you require.

  • You have 10 Megabytes per month average diskspace available for your e-mail. The maximum size of a single incoming email message is restricted to 25 megabytes. You may transfer as much e-mail as you like up to a maximum of 1000 Megabytes per month, as long as the average daily diskspace used does not exceed 10 Megabytes. The mailbox is polled daily and averaged out over one month. To ensure that you do not exceed this limitation, please read your mail regularly and do not leave your mail on the server for extended periods. Horizon Net is not responsible for mail left on the server. Please make a copy of your email on your own computer in the event of data lose on our servers.

    We reserve the right to restrict the number of times per day that you check your mail. This restriction is based on 2 things, 1)How much mail is in your mailbox, 2)How often you are checking the mail. If your mail program is set to check mail automatically, please set it to once every hour or two. If you have more than 5 Megabytes of mail in your mailbox that is being left on the server, and you check your mail more than once per hour, we will notice the load on our system and you will be notified.

  • There are no refunds for our account plans. Discounts and bonus hours are provided to accounts that are prepaid 3, 6 or 12 months in advance on the expectation that you will keep the account for the full period. As a result any refunds made will be prorated at an undiscounted rate and a $10.00 service charge applied for early cancellation. Partial months of service are non-refundable.
